1. The Class of 2020 has hit a university record with 3,982 new students enrolled.

2.17,915 new students applied this year. The number is down slightly from 18,059 last year.

3. William and Madison are the most common first names for male and female freshmen.

4. Smith is the most common last name for male and female freshmen.

5. The students enrolled at Ole Miss this fall are two 15-year-olds who are dual-enrolled from local high schools.

6.”Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” came out the year most freshmen were born.

 7. The average high school GPA 3.57, which is new record for Ole Miss.

8.  The world’s population when most freshmen were born was 5.9 billion. Today, the world’s population is an estimated 7.4 billion.

9.  474 freshmen are enrolled in the Barksdale Honors College.

10. The number of first-year transfer students is 1,533. 

11. The average ACT is a new record at 25.2.

12. The University of Mississippi, including the medical center, has the largest number of students enrolled in the state.

13. Ole Miss has 90 countries represented in the overall student body from international students.

14. New freshmen and transfers come from 59 of Pennsylvania’s 67 counties. 

15. All 82 Mississippi counties are represented in the freshman class.

16.  All 50 states are represented in the freshman class.

17. Madeline Albright became the first female Secretary of States in United States history the year most freshmen were born.

18. The first iPods came out the year most freshman students were born.

19. The Titanic was the highest grossing film at the box office the year most freshman students were born and made $2.5 billion. It is the fourth-highest grossing film of all time behind Avatar and Star Wars.

20. Wikipedia came out the year they were born.
