Howdy, everyone. I hope you guys are gearing up for the Oxford Film Festival, because it’s the theme of this week’s playlist. I love movies – the good and the bad. They’re centerpoints of modern culture and have the ability to bring people of all types together. This year’s film festival is a milestone – this is the 15th year of the OFF as we know it. It features short films created by Mississippians, as well as nationally recognized pieces. I mean, I saw James Franco here my freshman year when I went to the film fest, so you should go ahead and buy a ticket just in case he decides to make another appearance.
This playlist contains songs from some of my favorite movies including, but not limited to, “Moonlight,” “La La Land,” “Her,” “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Juno.” My absolute favorite movie, “Dancer in the Dark,” is also included, but be prepared to let the tears flow if you ever watch it. Next week, I’ll be back with some songs in celebration of Black History Month, but for now, gear up for the film fest, and we’ll see you next time.
