The Associated Student Body, along with sponsors University & Public Events and Paris-Yates Chapel, will host the final Everybody’s Tent of the season this weekend.
ASB President Gregory Alston and members of the ASB established Everybody’s Tent this year with the goal of giving students, faculty and fans a place to go on gamedays where they can eat and socialize before the football games. Alston is thankful for the support the ASB has received from sponsors, alumni and students to make the tent possible.
“The support we have seen from certain departments on campus has been great,” Alston said. “Having sponsors over the football season ranging from the dean of students’ office, the Center for Student Success and First Year Experience, the Trent Lott Leadership Institute, Ambassador John N. Palmer, Long Distribution and the Ole Miss Department of Athletics really shows the support that this university and the alumni have given us.”
As part of Veterans Week, University & Public Events will also be welcoming veterans to the tent this week.
William Fowler, director of Everybody’s Tent, is pleased with the tent’s success this year and hopes the student government will continue this tradition for years to come.
“ASB plans on hosting the tent again next football season, and we encourage anyone interested in getting involved to reach out to us directly,” Fowler said.
Fowler sees Everybody’s Tent as a unique addition to the tailgating experience and hopes the tent will continue to show the student body how ASB is striving to make a difference on campus.
“In hosting the tent, we hope to inspire new ideas from fellow students interested in making a positive impact on their campus,” he said.
Everybody’s Tent will be located in the Grove in front of the Union Plaza Saturday, with ASB serving brunch from 8:30-10:30 a.m. before the game.
