No bombs found on Texas campus

UPDATE: (11:40AM) The University of Texas issued an alert  earlier today on its website ordering an evacuation "due to threats on campus."
 
Just before 10 a.m. Friday an alert from the university said people on campus should immediately evacuate all buildings and "get as far away as possible."
 
According to the Associated Press, University of Texas director of communications Rhonda Weldon says the university received a call about 8:35 a.m. from a man with a Middle Eastern accent claiming to be with al-Qaida. The man said he had placed bombs all over the campus that would go off in 90 minutes.
 
Wheldon says all the buildings were evacuated at 9:50 a.m. as a precaution.
 
She says no bombs were found.
 
Kevin Hegarty, vice president and chief financial officer of the University of Texas at Austin, said moments ago that the campus will be closed till the sweep of the buildings is completed, which is expected to be at around 2 p.m.
 
All classes for today have been canceled and campus building may be reentered at noon.
 
All other campus activities will resume at 5 pm.
