The University of Mississippi announced Thursday a 4-year, $50 million plan to renovate and expand the Ole Miss Student Union on the Oxford campus. The plans include a larger dining area, new student government offices, a ballroom, conference space and other amenities, according to a UM press release.
Additionally, the existing U.S. Postal Service office in the basement of the Student Union will close permanently on June 30 of this year. A new campus mail system will be implemented to replace the current system.
The project will be handled in separate phases over the four years. According to the release, the existing bookstore and food court inside the Student Union will remain open throughout the construction phases.
Be sure to read tomorrow’s edition of The Daily Mississippian for more information on the plans.
