Ole Miss football player Bobby Hill was charged and arrested for sexual battery Tuesday and suspended from the football team. The 19-year-old cornerback was booked in the Lafayette County Detention Center Tuesday and held on $10,000 bond. Hill is a freshman at Ole Miss, and played in 10 games this season, recording one tackle.
According to a release from the Oxford Police Department, Hill was arrested after a victim filed charges after stating she was sexually assaulted.
Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze released a statement Wednesday afternoon: “We are aware of the situation and recognize the proper authorities are responsible for the matter. Bobby has been indefinitely suspended from all football activities while the process moves forward. We take this very seriously and will make decisions once the course of action is complete.”
