Associated Student Body held a “Meet the Candidates” event Wednesday evening in the Student Union. Candidates handed out stickers and met with around 50 students.

The ASB general elections are Tuesday, April 5, and each candidate is running unopposed. Because there is no opposition, ASB decided not to hold a debate and instead hosted the meet and greet.

“It’s great to see all the candidates talk to students and cabinet members,” said William Kneip, Mr. Ole Miss 2016-2017 and a senior majoring in public policy leadership.
As students swarmed around them, candidates spoke about their platform and why they are running for office.
“I think they are all great candidates and they will represent the study body well,” freshman international studies major Hailey Strother said. Strother is on ASB Senate as well as Freshman Council.
