No. 11 Tennessee at No. 25 Georgia
UPD: GEORGIA. The football gods are still angry that Peyton chose to be a Volunteer over a Rebel.
CT: Tennessee has been overrated the entire year, but somehow they always manage to squeak by. That ends this week, and the Bulldogs bounce back with a win.
BR: I still don’t think Tennessee is very good. It took a large second-half comeback to beat Florida at home, who played its backup quarterback. Georgia wins and the SEC East comes down to the Florida-Georgia in Jacksonville. Also, the East is terrible.
No. 8 Wisconsin at No. 4 Michigan
UPD: MICHIGAN. Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh is crazy … crazy good!
CT: The Big Ten is honestly impressive this season. Wisconsin looks formidable and has a few great wins on their resume, but I think Harbaugh has the Wolverines on the road to a playoff berth and won’t let Wisconsin get in their way.
BR: No one wants to give the Badgers any love after wins over LSU and Michigan State. I will. Wisconsin picks up a big win on the road.
Oklahoma at No. 21 TCU
UPD: TCU It is just plain easier to spell.
CT: Sooner or later, Oklahoma will bounce back, but I think Kenny Hill and the Horned Frogs win this week. Did you catch that I said Sooner, like Oklahoma’s mascot? Yeah, I’m surprised they still let me do these picks too.
BR: Every time I have picked Oklahoma this year they’ve lost, so I’m going with TCU. You’re welcome, Bob Stoops.
No. 3 Louisville at No. 5 Clemson
UPD: CLEMSON. Everyone is praising Louisville and criticizing Clemson. So obviously, go with the Tigers.
CT: My gut says Clemson, but I’m shamelessly jumping on the Lamar Jackson bandwagon. No disrespect to Deshaun Watson, but Jackson has emerged as the top dual-threat quarterback since Michael Vick and the Cardinals are hot right now.
BR: I like Lamar Jackson more and more every time I watch him play. Louisville makes another statement.
No. 22 Texas at Oklahoma State
UPD: OKLAHOMA STATE Don’t mess with Texas, unless they are playing at Oklahoma State.
CT: It’s a rough year for the Big 12. Texas is definitely improving, but I think the Cowboys are still ahead of them. I expect a close victory for Oklahoma State.
BR: Charlie Strong looked like he’d turned the corner at UT in the opening week, but then Notre Dame turned out to be awful and the Longhorns lost to Cal. Oklahoma State wins at home.
No. 7 Stanford at No. 10 Washington
UPD: STANFORD. How can the Pac 10 have two teams in the top 10? Oh wait, it’s the Pac 12 now … and they are still no good.
CT: I’m honestly excited to see how this game pans out. Stanford still has Heisman candidate Christian McCaffrey leading the way, and Washington might finally be turning the corner this year. Stanford edges out the Huskies in a close game.
BR: Most underrated game this week. I like Washington in this one and think the Huskies will prove they are playoff contenders.
Memphis at No. 16 Ole Miss
UPD: OLE MISS. The team may not mention revenge … but we would like some of that. Hotty Toddy!
CT: After last week’s performance, I have to take Ole Miss here. Memphis looks explosive in their first three games, but after making it through maybe the toughest four-game stretch in the country, I think the Rebels will be ready for the Tigers.
BR: Memphis can score points, and that will keep them in the game for a half, but Ole Miss avenges last year’s loss.
