Hundreds of people, from children to grandparents, gathered in front of Oxford’s City Hall this morning to participate in the March for Our Lives event and call for an end to gun violence across the nation, especially in schools.
Oxford High School students organized the local event with the help of Mothers Demand Action. The event was part of a national movement and the main rally happened in Washington, D.C.
March for Our Lives is a student-led response to gun violence and mass shootings, particularly the shooting that happened at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. 17 people died on February 14th when a gunman opened fire during the school day. The movement hopes to implement gun control legislation and put an end to the gun violence in America.
