The Oxford Police Department confirmed that two people were found dead in their home in Oxford Friday morning after an apparent double homicide. The bodies of Carol Lavett Gary, 43, and Patrick Earl Gary Jr., 12, were found in their home at 292 County Road 301 in the South Oaks subdivision this morning after OPD received a call at around 6 a.m.

A homicide investigation is underway. OPD, the Lafayette Country Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation are working to resolve the investigation. OPD says that a suspect has not been identified and no one is currently in custody.

Carol Gary was the principal of Davidson Elementary School, according to the Water Valley School Distrcit website. Patrick Gary was a student at Oxford Middle School.
