Desmond Bowen, the 22-year-old suspect in an April shooting at The Lyric Oxford, will face charges of aggravated assault and felon in possession of a firearm after being arrested by his probation officer Tuesday, according to the Oxford Police Department.

OPD identified Bowen, a Memphis native, as the shooter after a nearly two weekslong investigation which began on the Friday night of the Double Decker Festival. The department announced Bowen’s arrest tweeted out his driver’s license photo Tuesday afternoon.

Bowen’s arrest came as a result of combined efforts by OPD, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the US Attorney’s Office, Desoto County Sheriff’s Department, Hernando Police Department, Shelby County Probation Office and US Marshals. OPD tweeted in thanks for the tips and information submitted by civilians in the days after the shooting.

Bowen is currently in holding at the Shelby County Jail in downtown Memphis, where he was booked at 12:31 p.m. Tuesday. OPD plans for Bowen to be extradited to Lafayette County, where he will be booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center and notified of his bond.
