Playlist of the Week: Rage

We’ve all been there. Sometimes, you just get so angry at someone or something, or maybe even at everyone and everything. Some of the best music has been created based on a feeling of rage. While these may not be what everyone considers the best songs, they should still help you during the next time you need some angry music.

1. “Break Stuff” – Limp Bizkit

2. “Hate Everyone” – Say Anything

3. “Riot” – Three Days Grace

4. “I’ll Never Be You” – Dane Cook — This is probably the most unusual song to be included on a playlist all year. While Dane Cook is mostly known as a comedian, he wrote and recorded this song in 2006, and it is about someone who hates another person but wants to be that person at the same time.

5. “Killing in the Name” – Rage Against the Machine

6. “Platypus (I Hate You)” – Green Day

7. “St. Anger” – Metallica

8. “We’re Not Gonna Take It” – Twisted Sister

9. “Kill You” – Eminem

10. “Sometime Around Midnight” – The Airborne Toxic Event — A sleeper hit from 2008, this song is about a guy trying to get over his ex-girlfriend when he sees her out with someone else. It starts off pretty mellow, but the anger certainly comes in, and the emotion in this song is almost palpable.

11. “Throne” – Bring Me The Horizon

12. “Down With the Sickness” – Disturbed

13. “Symphony of Destruction” – Megadeth

14. “Sound of Madness” – Shinedown

15. “The Way I Am” – Eminem — It was difficult to pick between two Eminem songs for this list, but both seemed fitting. The first song seems more like his “Slim Shady” persona, talking about hating everyone, while this song is more of a social commentary, being mad at the world and society.
