The Ole Miss Athletics Foundation hosted a free concert at the Pavilion on Sunday performed by Brad Paisley.
Students started lining up for the concert at 1 p.m. at the main entrance of the Pavilion. Wristbands were distributed to students at 4 p.m. and were available to the first 2,000 students in line.

Mary Henley Green, a junior education major from Memphis, started waiting in line at 2 p.m. with her friends.
“I’m so excited,” Green said. “I’m so glad that Ole Miss can hold a concert like this.”

Students started ordering pizzas and asking friends to bring them coffee or snacks to make the time go by more quickly.

“I’m really cold, but I’m excited,” sophomore engineering major, Peter Dowling said. “My friend Philip brought me coffee and we called Papa John’s, so we have pizza on its way.”

The doors for the concert officially opened to the general public at 6:30 p.m.and at 6:20 p.m. for the students who got wristbands.
Sophomore biology major Michael Drew Turner and his friend freshman psychology Lilli Alford came up with their own strategy to get good spots at the concert.

“Most people are leaving after they get their wristbands to get ready before the concert,” Turner said. “We already got ready so that we can stay and get some of the first spots in the Pavilion.”
