UMatter is an online resource put together by the university that provides resources for students in distress. Through the site, students, parents, faculty and staff may take action to help fellow students or colleagues. Resources include help with alcohol and drugs, sexual assault, hazing and other issues.
UM Counseling Center 662-915-3784, located on the third floor of Lester Hall
The UM Counseling Center provides students, faculty and staff with a place to work with a counselor on things that are troubling or stressful. Trips to the Counseling Center are free for currently enrolled students, and all visits are confidential. The Counseling Center is open Monday-Friday from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. Walk-in visits are offered from noon to 5 p.m.

In the event that someone is in danger of hurting him- or herself or others outside of the Counseling Center’s usual business hours, UPD will connect the caller to a crisis counselor who is on call for after-hours emergencies.
Active Minds at the University of Mississippi
Active Minds is a nonprofit organization dedicated to using the student voice to raise mental health awareness among college students. It develops and supports student-run chapters on colleges and university campuses to promote dialogue around issues of mental health and to educate students about resources available to them.
