OPD arrested Deonte Harris, 24, of Oxford on Sunday, March 27 on charges of sexual battery after the victim reported the crime and identified Harris. His bond was set at $5,000.

At approximately 9:13 a.m., March 30, UPD responded to a report of shoplifting at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore inside the Student Union. Once at the scene, officers spoke with the reporting party, who said the suspect had been taking items on numerous occasions. Officers came in contact with the suspect in question, arrested the suspect at the scene and transported him or her to the Lafayette County Detention Center.
