Man shoots himself at Rooster’s, leaves with non-life threatening injury

The Oxford Police Department received reports of a gunshot fired in Rooster Blues House on the Square just after midnight on Tuesday.

According to a statement from Capt. Hildon Sessums, officers responded to reports of a subject discharging a firearm inside the bar, shooting himself with a non-life threatening injury. The subject was taken to Baptist Memorial Hospital, and no one has been charged.

The incident is still under investigation.
