The Oxford Police Department has identified a vehicle as well as a second person of interest in its investigation of the Lyric Oxford shooting that occured Friday night.
OPD took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to post surveillance photos from the Oxford Square of a man in Cleveland Cavaliers jersey alongside the first person of interest, a man in a North Carolina Tar Heels jersey. OPD also included photos of a Chevrolet Tahoe the two men were in, which it described as an “older model.”
Investigators are requesting that anyone with information or photos of the subjects inside the Lyric call OPD at 662-232-2400 or CrimeStoppers at 662-234-8477.

Update: April 29, 7:00 p.m.
The Oxford Police Department has identified a person of interest in its investigation of a shooting that occured Friday night at the Lyric Oxford. OPD said a man fired a single shot into air inside the Lyric and that the stray bullet did not strike anyone. One person was injured by “broken glass” but no other injuries have been reported, according to OPD.
The lone shot was fired just before 10 p.m. Friday night after a fight broke out during the “Shoot Your Shot” Jersey Party hosted by Epic Entertainment. OPD tweeted a photo Saturday of a “person in a white jersey” it is seeking information on following the incident. As of Saturday afternoon, no suspects were in custody.
The doors for the party opened at 9 p.m. Friday, less than an hour before the shooting. Epic Entertainment tweeted an apology Saturday morning to those who attended the previous night’s party and hosted a party at a local pool later that day.
“Concerning last nights event at the Lyric, Epic Entertainment apologizes to everyone in attendance for the one bad person that ruined a whole night,” the entertainment group tweeted Saturday morning. “We especially send apologies out to the injured person. The suspect is in no (way) affiliated with the Epic Entertainment Organization!”
Officers were already on scene at The Lyric when the one shot was fired, working an assignment for the Friday night of Double Decker Festival, according to OPD. The department confirmed the incident’s only reported injury was due to “broken glass when everyone started running.”
“We are currently working a shooting inside the Lyric,” OPD tweeted just after 10 p.m. Friday. “One known victim with a non-life threatening wound. This is an ongoing investigation.”
A follow-up tweet from OPD included a flyer for the “Shoot Your Shot” party, urging those who attended the event and who have any information regarding the incident to contact them. The department is still seeking information in this developing investigation.
Update: April 28, 1:00 p.m.

OPD tweeted a photo of a “person in a white jersey” it is seeking information on following Friday night’s incident, which left one person injured as a result of “broken glass when everyone started running.”
The department tweeted Saturday that one shot was fired into the air inside The Lyric just before 9:50 p.m. Friday after a fight broke out during the “Shoot Your Shot” Jersey Party hosted by Epic Entertainment. OPD said officers were already on scene at The Lyric when the one shot was fired, working an assignment for the Friday night of Double Decker Festival. OPD confirmed no one was struck by the bullet, and the incident’s only reported injury was due to “broken glass.”

The Oxford Police Department reported a shooting inside The Lyric Oxford theatre just after 10 p.m. Friday night.
“We are currently working a shooting inside the Lyric,” a tweet from OPD said. “One known victim with a non-life threatening wound. This is an on going investigation.”
A follow-up tweet from OPD included a flyer for Epic Entertainment Presents: Double Decker Weekend Kickoff “Shoot Your Shot” Jersey Party, the event where the shooting occured. Police urged those who attended the event aware of any information regarding the incident to contact them.
