Changes are coming to the Rebel Rewards program.
Rebel Rewards is an interactive program that rewards fans who show their support at Ole Miss athletic events.

Fans currently receive one point for each game they attend, which gives them a chance to win free prizes.
There are 164 events to attend for chances to win prizes ranging from T-shirts, hats and coolers to 2013 football season tickets. In order to be eligible to win a new car, participants must earn 100 points.
According to Ty New, sports marketing and fan experience program assistant at The University of Mississippi, Rebel Rewards plans on holding new events so that participants can win better prizes more frequently.

One example is The Big Point, an event where Rebel Rewards will offer extra points for certain games.
New said new prizes are also in the works for the program.

While the prizes have not been finalized, he said the program would like to add Nike Ole Miss apparel and more “fan experience” sorts of prizes.

The program is also trying to provide more rewards faster.
“(Right now) you get to 15 points, you get a T-shirt, (and) you have to wait 30 more points to get your next prize,” New said.

“So we are going to try and get more prizes quicker.”
The program has 3,000 users, and organizers want to gain even more by adding extra giveaways, big-point nights, new and better prizes and campus-wide events.
“A lot of universities do this, but ours is really cool because it is all on your phone,” New said.

“You just scan your phone when you come in.”
Starting this baseball season, the program will make it easier for students to locate the scanning box by placing it at the student section gate.

New said the program also expects to give away more points for each game.
Another benefit the Rebel Rewards program is working toward is having the university’s Associated Student Body allow students to get discounts on student football tickets by attending other events, according to Brandon Hudspeth, the marketing coordinator for sports marketing and fan experience.
“It’s a win-win; the whole reason is to make our atmosphere better in every sport,” New said.
