Funeral services held for UM grad student

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for 25-year-old Ole Miss graduate student Charlie King, who died Jan. 5 in a rock climbing accident in Veracruz, Mexico.

According to his obituary, King was completing a masters degree in geophysics at The University of Mississippi. He earned a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from Ole Miss in 2010 after graduating from Oxford High School in 2007.

“An avid outdoorsman, (King) enjoyed skateboarding, snow skiing, cycling, mountain climbing, running and was a skilled guitarist,” his obituary reads.
