Ole Miss snapped its four-game losing streak by picking up a 79-67 win over Alabama. Ole Miss got a surprise contribution from Martavious Newby, who scored a career-high 15 points and grabbed a career-high 10 rebounds.
“He was the MVP of the game,” Kennedy said. “That’s the Martavious Newby we recruited.”
It was the first double-double for an Ole Miss player since Aaron Jones picked one up against LSU on Jan. 15.
Marshall Henderson broke an SEC record by making a three in his 61st consecutive game. He broke Pat Bradley’s record; Bradley played for Arkansas from 1996-99.
Ole Miss remains tied for fourth in the SEC at 8-7.
