The Oxford Board of Aldermen voted Tuesday night to allow the sale of refrigerated cold beer and light wine sales, which includes Sundays.

The 6-1 vote is set to change previous Oxford alcohol ordinances that did not allow convenience and grocery stores to sell cold alcoholic beverages and did not allow any Oxford business to sell or serve beer or light wine on Sundays.

The new ordinances will go into effect on September 19, which is 30 days from the vote.
