The Student Union opened last week after months of construction, bringing back old favorites along with new options, helping enhance on-campus dining at Ole Miss.

Housing Chick-fil-A, Qdoba, Which Wich, Panda Express and McAlister’s, the Union boosted the Ole Miss dining experience overnight. With long lines and new dining options, students are raving about their dining options.

“The selections are great. I’m personally a fan of Qdoba. I get the burrito bowl when I go there – can never go wrong with that choice,” freshman Drew Sullivan said.

Lauren Wilson, also a freshman, was also impressed by the options, with her favorite restaurant being McAlister’s.

“I get something different every time I go. I love to mix it up,” Wilson said.

The two freshmen both said they were happy they had other dining options on campus that offer a variety of choices in a new, updated building.

“The new Union looks fantastic, a lot better than it used to before. I’ve only been twice, but since I live off campus, it’s really great to have somewhere nice on campus to eat,” sophomore Yasmine Osman said.

However, due to the popularity of the new Union, the lines and wait times are long. Students say the new dining options are worth it, though.

“The old Union was old and outdated – the new Union is a big step up. The lines feel a lot faster,” sophomore Ivy Able said.
