The university released a statement regarding the death of Johnathan Cleveland, an Ole Miss student.
The University of Mississippi community is heartbroken over the death of one of our students, Johnathan Cleveland. The university offers its deepest sympathies to Johnathan’s family and friends as well as the many members of the community who knew him.
“We were deeply saddened to hear about Johnathan’s passing,” said Brandi Hephner LaBanc, UM’s vice chancellor for student affairs. “He was a valued member of our campus community and served in our ROTC program. Please keep Johnathan’s friends, fellow cadets, classmates and family in your thoughts and prayers — this is a very sad time for the Ole Miss family.”
Johnathan died late Tuesday evening as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident near Holly Springs. He was a sophomore criminal justice major from Byhalia, Mississippi.
