Happy Black History Month! This is one of my favorite times of the year because I love seeing my friends of color shine. It’s a month when I, as someone who is white, take the back seat to learn more about my friends’ culture and history. Black artists have changed the world of music and enriched it in so many ways. Without black artists, we wouldn’t have hip-hop or reggae, and our pop music would definitely not be as fulfilling. Stars like Prince, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, SZA, Beyoncé and Erykah Badu fill this playlist in honor of Black History Month.
